Merry Christmas from the Kamp's

Heidi

(21.8, kamp0063@tc.umn.edu): Graduates in Economics and Mathematics this spring. She now lives in an apartment on West Bank, near Cedar and Washington. She is president of the Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi. Her current part-time job is in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota. She travelled to Detroit for a Tau Beta Pi convention. She is planning to attend graduate school in Economics, and is currently applying.

Jesse

(23.9, kamp@cs.utexas.edu): Is a second year PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin, studying Computer Science. He is working as a T.A., and is enjoying Grad School. This year he attended a conference in Vancouver on the Foundations of Computer Science. He and Noelle maintain their long-distance relationship while he is in school in Texas, and she works as a chemical technician in Ohio. Soem of his main hobbies are reading, cooking, and attending concerts. He is also very involved in UT's Lutheran Campus Ministry.

Jan

(??, jkamp@inerhills.edu): continues at Inver Hills CC. She continues as the coordinator of the Math Center and teaches mathematics at the school. She AGAIN taught this summer, but cannot next summer. (She will be on Federal Jury Duty.) We vacationed at the North Shore, Fort Meyers Florida, and of course Texas.

Bill

Bill (??-1, kamp@iagp.net): Continues working on two NSF projects. One is the study of MagnetoHydrodynamics for NASA ( http://spdext.estec.esa.nl/content/doc/bb/1979_.htm), and the other is consulting on the assembly of a Rock Magnetic Data Base through the University of Minnesota (See here.). Bill is also working on a data base project for managing package shipments. He taught last spring and summer at Inver Hills Community College. The latter experience taught him that he prefers research and consulting. See http://www.billkamp.com for more details and pictures.
The OS of the year is Linux, while the language of the year is Perl. I am finding Perl a great way to handle database and web site administration.
